There is no story behind it. But i believe it shows that us people think of achievements will no longer be there after time is passed. it will be just a distant memory of what we once thought was grand.
It shows everything of what man has or can create but no people. It shows how after time we will forget of these items in the future. It shows the absence of peoples thoughts or cares.
